Identichips are a brilliant way to identify your pet.
They are the size of a grain of rice and hold a number which is unique for your pet. This number is kept in a central pet log registration. The number will identify your pet and you as the owner.
If e.g. your pet gets lost and it is brought into a vet. The number can be read and via the pet log you can be contacted. The RSPCA and the dog warden check any pets for an identichip.
You will need the identichip if you want to take your pet abroad with the pet passport scheme.
The identichip is inserted with a needle. It does hurt a little, but it is worth it.
